Carnage Val

So. It was St Paul's Carnival this weekend and Flo and I got painted up and joined the (reported) 70,000 revellers for some Jerk Chicken, Rice & Peas and a few slices of watermelon...

So. Things are...not good* right now at Ginger Towers.

But, I think I'll be posting a tale of epic anger, fear, sorrow, anger, sorrow, rage, hope, and finally happiness (and a bit more rage) when this is all over.

The Zookeeper

Flo and I went swimming (man I wish they'd let you take a camera to the pool...Flo with armbands and goggles...what a sight!) on Sunday morning, then dawdled into town for some brunch, back to the park for a cycle and then some gardening....or Zookeeping in Flo's case.


Zookeeping involves catching spiders, woodlice and ants and keeping them in a small bucket of dry grass and twigs.


Not many of them survive this process.

Oh did I mention the pink feather boa and new fairy wings we bought?

...but luckily, all they wanted to do was some gardening.

Every now and again I'll be doing something and Flo will shout "Hey Dad, check out my styles!"...it doesn't always make me piss myself laughing....but sometimes....

Flo and I made a "music video"...but she wasn't too keen on my taking photos of her covered in chocolate (I was laughing at her though).

One or the other

Had a day off yesterday. Picked Flo up from school and had a hilarious afternoon in the park...witness.

So. How did your week start? Good I hope...

Mine started at 6:30 this morning when I had to go wake up the couple 2 doors up the road to tell them that their cat was lying dead outside my house...apparently hit by a car!

Great...

The weekend, however, had been awesome...I surprised Flo! Couple of weeks ago I asked "The Spokesman" (aka Balti) the local bike shop if they could set up a bike for her. Having done a bit of work on my 2, he knew what I had in mind...so he'd added "ape-hanger" type handlebars and all the bells, reflectors, and PINK that a 4.5 year old girl obsessed with princesses could want.

She loves it!



To the extent that she spent Sunday telling everyone we met (or even passed in the street) that she had a new bike...

Bugger

So. Flo & I went down to M&D in Devon this weekend...we had a great time.

On Sunday we returned to Bristol to find I had been burgled.

Bugger!

Laputa / Computermaphone

Flo has loads of old mobiles that she plays with, hey it's a perk of my work. One of the earlier Nokia PDA type phones is her favourite...I've told her it's a "computermaphone"...Sunday morning she was messing around pretending to type on it and when I asked her what she was doing she replied, "I am typing on the internet of course!"....I LOL'd.


Later we hung out in the park where she spent a large portion of the time running around pretending to be Shita from "Laputa: Castle in the sky"....thusly.
